COMMUNITY ART CLOSET
What is the Community Art Closet?
Santa Fe has a well-earned reputation as an arts town, but that doesn’t mean that everyone has access to the tools and supplies necessary to create visual art. By providing free art materials to anyone who needs them, we support the ongoing creative practice of everyone from student artists to amateur painters, from kindergartners to professional makers. We see this as part of our mission to sustain and enhance Santa Fe's cultural vibrancy and foster a collaborative creative community.
Who does it serve?
Our Community Art Closet is stocked with a range of art supplies for all skill and age ranges, including coloring sheets and activity prompts for younger artists from our partners at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, the Children's Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts.
Where is it?
The Art Closet is right in the center of town on the Midtown Campus (formerly SFUAD). We are in the SW Annex. Follow the red signs for Vital Spaces!
When is it?
Every third Saturday of the month from 11am–2pm

What Else do you need to know?
Wear your mask at all times, including while in line outside
Please stay home if you feel sick

Got Donations?
We’d love donations of new or lightly used art and craft supplies or other materials that can be repurposed for artworks.
You can drop them off at the Annex on Thursdays between 2-4pm, during the Closet open hours, or by appointment: contact@vitalspaces.org.
We are also gratefully taking monetary donations that we put towards stocking and staffing the Art Closet.
